Wondering if the chemicals are harsh? I have natural hair (no colors on it currently) and my stylist mentioned we wouldn't have to bleach for the highlights. Just wondering if the other chemicals are bad for you.

you can add highlights without using bleach...using color instead can give you the look you want without drying the hair as much..color is not as harsh...whatever you decide to do just condition good afterwards and your hair will be fine.

yeah...if you highlight your hair to much you can damage it.....it may become rough and starts to get frizzy...you can highlight it and stuff,but don't do it to much

I've been checking out Miss Jessie's and Carols Daughter websites, but I would like to sample the products as this trial and error stuff can get kinda expensive. Also, I'm looking for a salon, not a braid shop, that specializes in natural hair care in the Detroit area. Any advice is appreciated. ; - %26gt;

hot water, lemon, mayonnaise, beer and eggs are all good for your hair, and cheaper than any bottled products. rinse well though!

well i don't live in Detroit but you need to look for a solan that dose weave.Also you can go to an African hair dresser they do a lot of nice hair styles with natural hair,i wish you good luck on you salon hunt!!!

I love the color of my hair and it is starting to go grey! I don't want to color it, but the grey by my forhead is starting to be really obvious. The other problem is I have dark auburn hair with natural red/coper streaks (the streaks are caused by a couple of birthmarks. Instead of the typical white hair that people get with birthmarks, I have gorgous fire red in those spots). I know that auburn/red is hard to match... What do I do?

Ok, well you cant just color the grey hair... It isnt possible. You do have a couple of choices though 1) you can use a rinse on your hair that you put on about once a week. You can find these rinses in any hair supply store, just look for the color that matches your hair best 2) You can use hair mascara to cover the large obvious spots. You can find this at any specialty hair store, or look it up on the web!

Ok, I am debating on whether I want to go natural with my hair. What is the best way to so this? I've read alot that just chopping off the perm is better than transtioning, but I am afraid of losing my length. It's a really confusing time for me right now. I do want my hair natural and I love the style, just how should I go about it? Thanks for any help.

I'm transitioning too. You don't have to cut off all the length right about. I've been cutting if 4 inches at a time over a couple of months and keeping it in protective styles. Start using natural products too they really help.

u just hav to stop putting the perm in your hair and let your hair grow back/let the perm grow out. all those chemicals are like KILLING your hair!!!!!....evn though ive nvr had a perm(i dont want one) my cousin had one wen she was like 8 or somthin like that and her preety hair was like gone

p.s.:im african-american and usually wear afros

just make sure u put moisturizer in your hair wen u do wear it naturalu cause it will breaf off like mine did this summer, but its already growin back,i kno it is

I have natural hair and love it.I do not have any chemicals in my hair.I usually get my hair straighten or braided.To go natural all you need to do is just stop getting your hair permed.You will not to cut all of the perm off of your hair .If you have any questions you can e- mail me.Best of luck to you .

You should just dye your hair a color similar to your natural med. brown until all the blonde is grown out. Loreal Preference is a really good dye. I am doing the same thing right now and am trying to get rid of my bleach blonde and just have my normal golden blonde natural color.

Just go in to your local salon and ask them to dye your hair, usually a colour nearest your natural shade!

if it's your natural hair color stick with it! natural hair color looks way better than died hair! im sure you look beautiful with your natural hair color! but you may be going through a growing stage so it may be tough but i bet you look way better with natural hair color then black hair color or something! like my hair color is mostl;y brown then when i got older it is blond and brown and i love my natural hair color! so be like me and love your hair color too!

a dark chestnut would look more natural then some of the other suggestions you could buy some extensions that are of the same texture color #33 or #30 to see the results wear it a few days and see how you like it or go to the wig shop and try on a few differnt colors to see what color matches your skin-toneif you are feeling wild go for #27 lol or #99j

fushia plum, or crimson will show up really nice in your hair. I suggest trying a rinse out temp, that way you won't be stuck with a color you don't like.

Talk to the stylist that does your hair. They will have the best ideas of what would look good with your skin coloring and hair type. I think color should reflect on your personality. I think either an auburn or blond streaks might look kinda cool though.

I think that depends on if you want to stand out , or fit in ,or if you just want something not one person has. If you want something that is not to LOOK AT ME ,go with red (my x-ant had that and it looked great) or brown it is not that much you can do that can go wrong with brown!I HOPE I HELPED!
