I have natural hair and some girls with perms scolded me about it saying omg girl your hair is nappy you need a perm. I got over it. It doesn't bother me at all now.

I hate that so many sistas perm claiming that it is for this and that when they know the real reason is just a complex. However if black girls wanna perm fine. Just keep your head up and if they keep scolding you then educate them. tell them to that you are happy to be nappy and at least you arent trying to be something that you arent. maybe you need to show them this

She inherited the long hair length from my husbands side but the thick coarseness from my side. Even an old fashion "put it on the stove" pressing comb only keeps it straight for a day. Black girls, How do you feel about black girls with natural hair and being opposed to perms? im indian and i have black friends that go to my school. 1 girl name shelly she has a natural lomg afro and every guy says she pretty and girls say shes pretty they always say oh but she needs a perm or get a hotcomb in her hair. they always bug her about her hair saying oh u know shes pretty but her hair is eww. she even told me her own grandmother say she need to do something with her hair and she also told me her family members tell her to marry a guy with my type of indian hair. i was so offended by this is told her to marry a guy who u love not because of hair. as a indian girl i can relate to u black women about hair because when it comes to hair pressure it doesnt only happen in the black community it happens in the indian community i used to have long hair to my butt when the hairdresser cut it it was up to my neck my hair is no longer silky all my indian friends bug me about getting long indian hair and telling me only indian women have strong hair unlike other girls. they always think that their hair is the best in the world. even people who are not indian always expect me as a indian woman to have hair that grow fast and silky but honestly my hair grows just like anyone else. at first i was ashame of my hair now im not and im glad u got over it sweetie. because hair is hair as long as u take care of it get regular trims and treatments u are good. dont worry about stupid ignorant people. dont change for stupid ppl love ur self and ur hair

thats why people say it looks nappy. back in the day, you had your hair braided for a few days, then you picked it out to wear the fro. also you spray oil sheen on it after you picked it.
its a pretty hairstyle if worn correctly.
