My natural hair color is dark blonde.I have been dying it light blonde for years now and it is damaged.I haven't colored my hair since January.I want to just let it grow out but it is going to look rediculous. It would be two totally
different shades. Is there anything that I could do
to keep it from looking so bad?
How can I go about letting my natural hair color grow back?
You can do streaks or highlighting now and it will look the same until it all comes off. Just use a color as close to your natural as possible and put the streaks in. It looks much better than half and half. You can also use those 4-6 wks wash out kind until it is grown out. Put a shade similiar to your natural on it and it will wash out and then you can replace them every 4-6 wks. as long as you need to until your hair is a good length. You can cut it and get the bad ends off and go natural all at once and it will not look bad at all! Best wishes!Been there-done that!

Patience......mine was dark brown...now it is dark brown and streaks of gray. Cut 2-3 inches off your hair everytime you go to salon. I figured that I earned those gray's..might as well be proud of them.

you can put in hair extensions of a lighter color and a darker color so it all kind of blends in. In the meantime, you'll have nice long hair with a great color in it.

The best thing to do would be getting dark blonde streaks only (reverse highlighting) and keeping it trimmed until it grows out

Use a semi or demi color that matches ur natural color, apply it to the lighter parts, it will fill in where the color has been stripped off (thats what happens when u go lighter) it will grab pretty quick so watch it and when it get to the desired shade wash out, it is conditioning to the hair and u wont have the two different colors, it will blend in, just be sure to get one that has neutral or natural base, not red, gold or ash. it will be easier to grow out all the color this way, u will need to reapply when u see it has washed off but it wont have to be done too often. I just did this to a client last night, she had highlights on her dark hair that were growing off and wanted to go back natural.

you have 2 oppositions go to the salon and have them match up your natural color and get them to color all of your hair. It won't be exactly the same at first but it will lighten up after 2 weeks or so. And start over or you could put low lights in your hair something that matches your natural hair color. Then it is more subtle as it grows out with out having that ugly solid line. But make sure you go to the salon becuse you could turn or hair green if you use the wrong shade.

Color your hair with a color that closes matches your natural hair that way it won't look two-toned.

You could use demi hair color, it just deposits color and it will fade out after about a month, you will have to do it once a month, but it doesn't ruin your hair. You can darken up the bottom of your hair so that it at least blends with your natural color. You will also want to get trims so that the dyed part will eventually be gone.Good luck
